Remember-When-higher-resDoctor What

It's 2010, so put aside whatever you're doing and resolve to listen to a brand new episode of Remember When!  Our subtitle for this episode is "Great stuff Parris has never seen"

Episode 27 kicks off with our the discussion on The Abyss.  James Cameron's big budget release from 1989 was high tech at the time, but it turns out that Parris has never seen it!  We take a look back at the film, which featured revolutionary special effects at the time of its release, plus a cast featuring such notable talents as Ed Harris and Michael Biehn.  Does this undersea adventure hold up over time?  Will a two decade span have killed the impact of this movie?  Listen in and find out.

Then we move on to Cameron's latest hit, Avatar.  With a billion dollars under its belt, critical and public acclaim, and the beginning of a new era for 3-D, we stop and ask... is this any good?  Does the movie hold up under scrutiny?

We cap off the show with yet another piece of pop culture Parris has never seen.  After months of suggesting it, Big P sat down and watched the introductory episode to the legendary British show, Doctor Who. The Angels have the Blue Box, and Parris has a lot to say about this time travel extravaganza.

As always, Remember When continues to grow and thrive thanks to the joy, love, appreciation, and comments we get from our fans. If you enjoy our show, please leave us positive feedback on iTunes. i watched avatar again, this time in dolby 3d and i have to say it was bright and clear (images were sharp even during moving scenes) unlike the real imax 3d which was blurry and dark.

i heard theres a newer 3d technology called xpand or active 3d which is supposed to be better.

heres a comparison table -->

i don't think 3d will be popular with console games until they fix the blurring. I think we'll have to wait until TV manufacturers improve the tech.
