During Sony's press conference today at Gamescom Insomniac Games took the stage to show off their next title. After revealing Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One to the masses they apparently decided that just one game wasn't good enough and also announced Resistance 3.

First up was Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. Similar to the double meaning in Left 4 Dead the number in the title is used to hint at the four player drop-in/drop-out co-op featured in the game. The four characters are Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Dr. Nefarious, each equipped with the franchise's typical zany weaponry. The game is scheduled for a Fall 2011 release.

Insomniac Games also announced the much rumored Resistance 3. As you might be able to tell from the iconic Statue of Liberty in the game's logo it appears that the game is going to be set in New York this time around. Resistance 3 was also given a 2011 window although no quarter was mentioned.

While neither of these games came as much of a surprise to me both games add to what is shaping up to be a great 2011 for PlayStation 3 fans.
