The rumors that were floating around the internet last week have turned out to be true. The next piece of downloadable content for Borderlands has been formally announced today. Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will see the vault hunters returning to Pandora to put down a "Robolution" led by the game's long awaited Claptrap Ninja Assassin.
"Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution will provide more than 20 new missions to loot and tons of fresh enemies to blast through, including original boss battles, waves of homicidal Claptraps, well-armed Hyperion soldiers, and local creatures that have been Claptrap-ified - including crab-traps, rakk-traps and skag-trapps. Fans can earn an additional 10 skill points for a total of 71 available skill tree points, and three more backpack slots for additional blood-yielding weapons and many hours of enjoyment."
The press release described the new DLC as "the perfect bookend to the original game" which clearly points to this being the final piece of new content for the game. Hopefully this means that we will be hearing news about a Borderlands 2 sometime in the near future.
Claptrap's New Robot Revolution is arriving this September for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. Hit the jump to see two brand new screenshots.
