Kirk never shows up... what would have happened to the Tribble population? Everyone would have been soothed by the Tribble's melody, while the 5-story building to his or her immediate left erupted like a fuzzy, cooing volcano of cuteness! (Again... purely unintentional) I nominate the Tribble as most awesome Star Trek character of all time!

Through flashbacks, we get to see Odo's entire life play out and watch him grow as an individual. He's a fully 3 dimensional character. After finally "getting the girl", he sacrifices his one true love for the sake of his people, selflessly giving of himself. All in all, Odo rocks.
