It that time of year again for the video game industry. The promotional gears turn during E3, TGS, and other game shows but the only other time that has this feel is leading into the summer movie season. Almost weekly there is a new hot gaming title being released. Not every title appeals to every individual but for anyone who follows games you're going to hear about the game whether you want to or not.
That is the rub, isn't it. We all want news about the latest video games but what we would really like is for the gaming media to be excited about the same games we are. It can get a bit frustrating when we keep hearing about a game that we have no interest in playing. After all we've been taught that we should get it our way. Why should we be satisfied with less from our gaming news.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was the hotness but only for a short while.
But that's not realistic. Unless you are as vanilla as it gets you are not always going to want to hear about the biggest title. Whatever it is that defines you will attract you to some titles and turn you away from others. You will forgive flaws in some games that will make other titles unplayable. You will embrace a favorite title getting all kinds of publicity while you just wish people would shut up about a title you don't want to play. (Me too after the jump)
